Double Layer BioThane® Dog Collar with Nameplate

BIOTHANE®

We use genuine BioThane® - a premium coated webbing made with a strong polyester core and a durable waterproof coating. It is lightweight, flexible, easy to clean and resistant to water, mud and odours.

Unlike cheaper coated webbing alternatives, genuine BioThane® is known for its consistent quality, strength and long-lasting finish.

HARDWARE

Our premium hardware is chosen for strength and durability. Gold hardware is solid brass, silver is nickel-plated solid brass, and matte black is PVD-coated solid brass.

Solid brass is a natural metal and may gradually develop a warm patina with use. This is completely normal and can easily be polished if you prefer a brighter finish. Silver hardware is a good choice if you prefer a finish that requires less polishing.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Each collar is individually handmade in our New Zealand workshop and finished to order.

Our nameplates are hand-stamped one character at a time. Small variations in spacing, depth and alignment are a natural part of the hand-stamping process and make each nameplate unique.

Our Double Layer BioThane® collars are available in two width combinations:

Standard Double Layer - a ¾" (19mm) main strap layered over a 1" (25mm) backing strap. A great choice for medium to larger dogs.

Wide Fit Double Layer - a 1" (25mm) main strap layered over a wider 1½" (38mm) backing strap. Designed for large and broad-necked dogs that suit a wider, more substantial collar.

Not sure which to choose? As a general guide, consider your dog's neck size, build and coat. A wider collar can look beautifully proportioned on a larger dog, while the standard double layer offers the same two-tone style with a less bulky profile.

COLOURS

Choose two BioThane® colours to create your own combination - one for the ¾" (19mm) main strap and one for the 1" (25mm) backing layer.

Our genuine BioThane® is 2.5mm thick, waterproof, easy to clean and available in a wide range of colours.

HARDWARE

Choose from gold, silver or matte black hardware to complement your colour combination.

NAMEPLATE

Your collar includes a hand-stamped nameplate, securely attached to the main strap.

The small nameplate measures 50 x 9.5mm and can be stamped with up to two lines of information.

This collar is a great choice for medium to larger dogs that suit a more substantial collar, without the extra width of our Wide Fit design.

The 1" (25mm) overall width gives you the bold, two-tone look of a double layer collar while keeping the profile relatively streamlined.

BioThane® is particularly practical for active dogs that love swimming, muddy walks and the outdoors. It's waterproof, easy to clean and doesn't absorb water or odours.

For large or broad-necked dogs that suit a wider collar, look for our Wide Fit Double Layer BioThane® Collar.

If your BioThane® strap becomes worn or damaged over time, you may not need to replace the entire collar.

We offer a strap replacement service and can reuse your existing hardware and nameplate where they are still in suitable condition.

For the best fit, measure your dog's actual neck circumference rather than measuring an existing collar.

Use a soft measuring tape around your dog's neck where the collar normally sits. The tape should sit snugly against the neck without being tight.

Enter this measurement when ordering - please don't add extra length or allowance. We will make the collar to suit the neck measurement you provide.

If you don't have a soft measuring tape, use a piece of string and then measure the string against a ruler.

Please measure carefully, as each collar is custom made to the neck size supplied.
