A natural leather conditioner and balm, made in New Zealand to nourish, protect and help waterproof leather.

Made entirely from natural ingredients, our Leather Balm helps keep leather soft, conditioned and protected from everyday wear. It is clear, easy to apply and has a clean, subtle scent.

We use this leather conditioner on the leather goods we make in our own studio, including our custom leather dog collars and leads. It can also be used to condition many other smooth leather goods such as belts, bags, boots and accessories.

HOW TO USE

Rub a small amount into clean, dry leather using your hands or a soft cloth. Allow it to absorb for a few minutes, then buff with a clean cloth. Reapply whenever the leather begins to look or feel dry.

As with any leather care product, we recommend testing on a small, inconspicuous area first, particularly on light-coloured, delicate or specialty-finished leather.

How To Measure Neck Size

Getting the size right means a better fit and a more comfortable collar for your dog. Here's how to measure your dog’s neck so we can make their collar just right - plus tips for growing puppies.

Dog Collar Measurement Guide - Kinfolk Leather Custom Dog Collars NZ

We strongly suggest providing an accurate measurement when placing your order. Old collars can stretch or sit differently, so measuring them often gives an inaccurate size - a quick neck measurement using the guide below will give the best fit.

1. Using a soft tape measure, record the circumference of the neck at the point where a collar would naturally lie. If you don’t have a tape measure, you can use a piece of string, ribbon, or strip of paper, then lay it flat against a ruler to measure the length.

2. Pull the tape so that it is snug but not tight - close enough that the collar will sit securely without slipping over the head, while still remaining comfortable for your dog. Record the measurement.

3. Enter this measurement in the personalisation text box when prompted. This measurement will be the middle hole of the collar, we will add at least another two holes either side.

Puppies - If your dog is a puppy, please let us know and we will make an allowance for growth when sizing the holes for the collar. Please feel free to give us a range (up to 12cm, i.e. 24-36cm) so that we can make sure there are enough holes to suit your dog's growth. We can be very flexible with the number of holes provided in the collar.
